The following guide will help to explain the processes that you need to complete to apply for your child to come to Whiteplains British School.


Application Fee: An application fee of N20,000.00 (non-refundable) must accompany all application to Whiteplains British School.


Tuition and Boarding Fees for each academic year are payable in three installments as per the 3 academic terms that make up a school year. A student who joins the school during a term will be charged as follows:

  1. 1.A full term’s fee if joining before mid-term;


  1. 2.For students enrolling in a full academic year, the first installment is due by September 1st of the year of joining. The remaining installment should be paid one week before the beginning of the relevant term at the latest. Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of the student from the school. Once a student has commenced a term, fee for such term cannot be refunded.
  2. 3.Any payment of fee 3 weeks or more into a new term is a late payment and it attracts surcharge of 10% per month. Therefore, if a parent(s) wishes to travel out of the country, adequate arrangement should be made for the payment of fees in due time, otherwise a student could be removed from the school list and parent may need to make a fresh application (subject to the availability of a place) and pay the application fee and capital development levy again.
  3. 4.Newly enrolled student in all year are provided, inclusive of fee, with two full school uniforms (blazer, shirt, tie, trousers, PE kit, and daywear if a Boarder). Thereafter, school uniforms is purchased and not part of the school fees.

(i) Medical Screening: Each student admitted to the school must obtain a medical screening certificate from any hospital of their choice. No student can be admitted to the school without the medical screening certificate. (ii) Medical Insurance: A N10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Naira) compulsory medical insurance fee should be paid for each student admitted and is a termly deposit.

All fees can be paid at any Stanbic IBTC bank branches nationwide, accompanied by the school’s deposit slip. Bank deposit slip are available at the school. Copies of the deposit slips evidencing the payment should then be forwarded to the school accountant as soon as possible. It is also possible to make bank transfer; details are with the school accountant.

Once a student has enrolled at the school, a term’s notice in writing to the Admission Officer is required before withdrawal. Failure to do so will  attract a fee of N150,000.00 per student.

A termly pocket money deposit of N15,000.00 for primary and secondary students is required to cover items including excursions, and additional weekend ‘treat’ (e.g ice-cream) etc. Any unspent amount will be carried forward to the subsequent term. Pocket money deposit is compulsory for all students and are payable in Naira into our Banks.

Tuition fee does not include school books. Parents or guardians are required to pay for textbooks and other books required, and are invoiced. Fee also does not include the examination fee required for the external Cambridge International Exams, taken by student of the school in year 9, 11, 12, and 13.
